Like so many capitals around the world, Lisbon welcomed the launch of the last capsule collection by the Swedish high street brand H&M, now with American designer Alexander Wang. The night of November 6th preceded the official launch of the clothing line, with a private presentation at the Portuguese H&M flagship store.
Alexander Wang's capsule collection was expected with some enthusiasm in the city of the seven hills, where we can actually feel the pulse of a certain urban style that connects with Wang's aesthetic. Among the most urban part of the city, design and fashion gather in an unpretentious lifestyle that shows a very unique identity.
Wang's sporty chic style in sober shades of black and gray, one of his usual color schemes, showed, once again, his skills for simple design in almost clean and somewhat architectural pieces. The construction reveals his excellent sartorial abilities for an increasingly more trendy and posh urban design, so typical from large modern cities that are shaped by individual expression as a state of mind.
In this capsule collection, we can find leggings, crop tops, leather jackets, sweaters, oversized parkas and pants, but also various accessories, from boxing gloves to bags and hats, some of them with the WANG statement logo. With a distinctly sportswear nature that alludes to a relaxed, almost marginal, urban mood, the collection stays away from visual noise and superfluous elements and yet, it is cleverly stylish, like Wang himself.
An event marked by a relaxed and elegant mood, with a touch of youth and a sporty feel.
