It was a time of great showcase, color, print and ambiance. Yes, it's Lagos Fashion & Design Week, one of the most important events for the Nigerian fashion industry. It's 2013 edition has come and gone, but the spectacular designs are still quite fresh in our minds.
The event was sponsored by the Guaranty Trust Bank and showcased great designs by the likes of Maki Oh, Jewel by Lisa, Lanre da Silva Ajayi, Josh Samuels, Bridget Awosika, Weizdhum Franklyn, Beatrice Black Atari, Tiffany Amber and many more. From Ankara prints on different types of fabric to bold, bright colors, the collections revealed great trends with a true african spirit for Spring/Summer 2014. Guests present could feel the genuine Nigerian style, as many of them were actually spotted looking the part on the red carpet.
As an event that aims to bring together different people to celebrate local fashion designers and serve as a useful tool for commerce and creativity in Nigeria, this fashion week could definitely be described as one of the best to african fashion, with designers evolving more and more with their stunning collections.
