The red carpet fashion included, as always, some of the most famous designers on the planet with sharp black tuxedos and dazzling dresses. Strapless gowns in pale colors owned the night with Amy Adams in a pearl grey organza dress by Oscar de la Renta or Jennifer Lawrence in a stunning ivory Dior gown, so voluminous that made the actress trip on her way to accept the Oscar for Lead Actress for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook”. Jessica Chastain also wore a strapless nude gown by Giorgio Armani, evocative of a certain old hollywood glamour that seemed to go well with the images of iconic actresses like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly or Bette Davis that where decorating the red carpet.
Apart from soft neutrals, some pops of color emerged with Reese Witherspoon's cobalt blue Louis Vuitton gown and Jane Fonda's daring canary yellow from Versace. The classic red also made an appearance with Sally Field or Jennifer Aniston, both in Valentino.
Helen Hunt stood out with her eco statement in an H&M silk gown, specially designed for her by the swedish retail brand under their Conscious line, but the most talked about moment of the red carpet belonged to Anne Hathaway. She initially surprised everyone with a non planned Prada dress and an apparent problem with the seams on the front made her the most popular theme on the internet. Still, the actress who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the film "Les Miserables" looked elegant in her silk pale pink dress.
Apart from glories or mishaps, a memorable night to remember.
