Those who wore them were often stigmatized and labelled as smartass nerds, failed to friendships and a focus of laughter and jokes.
Well, these so called lame characters are now the coolest trendsetters by carrying those rimmed glasses in which the all new Hipster image is based on. They are a well established urban tribe today, copied by a younger audience that craves for an alternative with a modern character.
It´s origins date back to the 1940´s, when the term Hipster referred to jazz lovers who were open to new ideas. Now, the concept has reborn, not as a profound subculture, but as a style that still defines a difference in attitude. Leaving aside the Hipster, the fact is that these rimmed glasses are increasingly becoming a must-have fashion accessory. They are a style option, even for those who do not necessarily need them. They become a way to get a different and very chic look.
Rimmed sunglasses are usually very flattering, but for those who opt for this style, it is essential to look and feel comfortable and not like they're doing a forced overstatement. Overall, rimmed glasses a great style accessory. What do you think?
