Pantone, the company that creates color and defines trends, named Radiant Orchid as the color of the year for 2014. They describe it as a shade of purple that "intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination". Very close to Violet, a bright bluish purple shade commonly associated with extravagance and individualism, Radiant Orchid is a cool hue that "emanates great joy, love and health" and can really trigger everyone's creativity when it comes to incorporate it in our daily lives.

It was a constant presence on the runway shows for the Spring/Summer 2014 collections and stylists have been pulling some great dresses in this color for the red carpet, so there's no doubt it will be worn by both men and women this coming Summer. Want to embrace this radiant shade? Take a look at some of these pieces and be inspired.
