Fashion and jewelry designer Maiko Takeda created “Atmospheric Reentry”, a conceptual collection of ethereal, intricate pieces that astonishes the viewer and empowers the user.
Headpieces, masks and capes made from acrylic mesh and silver are covered with translucent spikes that look like a second skin. When worn, these outstanding pieces come alive, reacting to body movement, wind and light. They are almost like a strange, fascinating extension of the human shape.
Known for her bold choices, Björk became enchanted with the dramatic power of these pieces. The singer claimed some of them for her Biophilia Tour, in 2013 and gave this Japanese designer a very well-deserved recognition for her outstanding work.
