Presented at the majestic Grand Palais in paris in a delightfully decadent theatre set, the Chanel Haute Couture collection for Fall/Winter 2013/14 brought us the future in tweed. Now that the digital age is no longer called non existant, perhaps it is the right thing to do. A whole army of models, all supporting this technological vision, walked the runway in layered pieces with a mixture of different fabrics.
Fashion Icon Karl Lagerfeld looks towards the whimsical and plays with unique visual elements to lure people's attention. Through geometrical shapes and intricate mosaic patterns, Lagerfeld seems to be trying to blur the concept of reality into a flamboyant utopian future. Not many would take that chance of shifting their direction into the unknown, but Chanel's creative director is always willing to take that chance. And it always pays off.
