In a rocker boy style, Beckham arrived at the opening of the Belstaff flagship store in Bond Street, last September. It was then announced that he will be the new face for the brand's Spring/Summer 2014 campaign. Inspired by the cool look of Steve McQueen, the advertising images shot by the renowned photographer Peter Lindbergh depict a "band of brothers" traveling through the English countryside on their motorbikes, led by the former footballer.
Besides being the brand's image, David Beckham will also present a menswear collection for Belstaff, inspired by "reviving luxury motor classics that have been redefined by Beckham's iconic personal style". The collection will be available exclusively at the Belstaff stores and website from March 2014, but a preview will be available early next year.
"I've always loved motorbikes", Beckham said to Vogue, "but I've never really been allowed to ride them. Obviously now that I've finished playing, it's enabled me to spend more time on my bikes, which is great."
Belstaff has been one of the leading British outerwear brands since its launch in 1924 and joining forces with David Beckham seems to be a clever idea. David is the perfect man for the job, since he has been spotted several times driving his motorbike in his leather biker look in LA.
