The City Suit

Love it or Hate it?

Milly is a brand that I have adored for a very long time. I typically go to a rack or pick out a dress in a magazine and most of the times, it's Milly. So when I walked over to the rack and pulled out this suit, it was not a surprise to find it was, once again, Milly.

I am the last person you’d find choosing to wear a matched suit, but this is a real gem and very versatile. It is not stuffy at all and yet, it can be worn for business or pleasure. The crisp navy and cream bold checkered print is so inviting and the "not too serious" style makes it perfect. I love the big navy buttons that close the double breasted suit jacket and the cuffed hem on the shorts is a playful detail.

This is a great transitional ensemble and I’m thinking it could even be worn with my navy suede over-the-knee boots. This time, I chose a sophisticated low navy pump with a bow as I was working in the city all day and wanted my feet to survive. Shoe options are limitless with this suit.

This suit can be worn with a t-shirt or a silk blouse underneath. I went with an alternate choice that worked just as well as these first two options: no shirt. It might be the jacket that you need, maybe the shorts or the pulled together look of the all suit. No matter what, this will be called upon.
