Staged beneath a low floating ceiling with specks of man-made snow lingering in the "frozen-like" atmosphere, the collection brought a fantasy world that seems reminiscent of the movie 'Frozen'. Through the smart use of sequins in almost every outfit, creative director Raf Simmons appears to be portraying a futuristic Princess Elsa, hiding and camouflaging among the individuals walking the runway.
The sequins used act as a second skin, hidden under a coat or a dress, but still revealed in a subtle manner, telling the audience that there is perhaps a hidden Japanese princess under the contrasting functional garments. This drama could also be seen in the model's eye makeup and their flawless fair skin, inspired by traditional Japanese Kabuki theater.
Overall, the collection seemed to infuse a Western touch to a traditional nymph that relates to the fantasy culture of Japan.
