There's a reason why Russian based designer Lesia Paramonova
is always able to create the most captivating collections. It's true her pieces seem to rely on detail to catch the eye, but there is so much more to it than that. The concept behind her brand, LES, rests in her very own personal aesthetic, defined by a parallel universe that she displays in her hand drawn illustrations, the starting point for any collection.
For Fall/Winter 2014/15, Lesia relied, once again, in her fantasy world. 'Monstrology' was born from an illustration set with six fantastic characters that seem to be influenced by mythical creatures from medieval times. Hybrid animals created by Lesia herself inspired a collection full of enticing prints and contrasting colors, with vibrant red being paired with softer shades like pale blue and soft beige. Intricate details like voluptuous bishop sleeves, flounce cuffs, bows and drawstrings with tassels give the pieces a medieval feel and connect with some of the elements we can find in traditional Russian clothing. Perfect for a fable.
