With the sound of the drums kicking off the Tommy Hilfiger Spring/Summer 2015 runway show, the excitement of what was yet to come seemed inevitable. Set in a dream-like background of what appeared to be crepe paper flowers adorning the runway and the big colorful stars over the plain green grass, you couldn't help but feel like you had entered a party world from the old Rock and Roll days.
A sense of playfulness seemed to diffuse into the air of Tommy Hilfiger's Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Military hats, band jackets and colorful stripes that define fun uniformity in shiny textures made the runway look like a parade of young bohemians. Retro butterfly prints, denim patchwork bell-bottoms and vests brought an unequivocal 1970s flair.
Wet fabrics with snake prints and laser cut stars gave the collection a feeling of an updated rock spirit and that clothes are not really just a functional thing to own. Its all about role-play and a sense of theatrical performance. The collection definitely uncovered a new, playful side of Tommy Hilfiger.
