The Burberry Prorsum Womenswear Spring 2014 collection show stood out during London Fashion Week. Always aware of the importance of good communication, Burberry always reveals itself online, showcasing their collections through social media very well. This time, a collaboration with Apple created a big buzz with the runway show being recorded by the lenses of the new iPhone5s. The mobile phones were everywhere, capturing the images of this fabulous collection.
The show was again a brilliant showcase of British fashion. Delicate silhouettes showed a certain romanticism and sweetness with the use of pastel hues. There was a sort of cotton candy colored likeness to it.
The models all had their own touches. The first looks started by revealing touches of the "English flower" with sheer laced pencil skirts and light shirts, all having a kind of intimate feel to it. The oversized color block coats contrasted with this delicate silhouette, giving it a warm and cosy feeling. The laced "English flower" then made its statement appearance through large crystal embellishments and translucent blossoms applied to belts and fitted skirts.
Some pieces with oversized polka dot prints and stripes were paired with this soft look and complemented with retro white sunglasses. It gave it a Barbie doll feel, the kind of dream that every girl wants to be. It was sweet and yet sexy with all its contrasts and details.
