Staged in a room covered with yellowish retro wallpaper, the Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2015/16 collection presentation felt like we were inside a big doll house, with the models becoming some sort of Barbie dolls, controlled by a playful, imaginative toddler.
If the mood seemed to evoke a homely setting of a playing house, the ready-to-wear collection was all about a youngster's limitless imagination coming to life. References were mixed in a pleasurable panoply of different textures and fabrics. Sugar candy pastel colors, colored leopard prints and oversized buttons reinforced the artificial quality of this doll fantasy.
The collection appeared to be a depiction of a child's wildest fashion fantasies, with no prejudices and no rules. And it really worked.
