Portuguese designer Paulo Corceiro was inspired to create a tea set that completely deviates from preconceived design notions.

The Nasty Set distances itself from the expected boring colors and the delicate, organic lines that make most of the traditional tea sets. Instead, it goes for unorthodox shapes that seem to have been influenced by retro video game graphics and a playful palette that could have been taken from a Lego box.

The smirks and the frown faces create a contrast with the fun pieces and add a little bit of irony to this delightful set. They may be nasty, but they serve good tea in a very amusing way.
