For Jason Freeny
, it's what's inside that counts. This American artist specializes in pop anatomical imagery that he creates in sculpture works and computer-generated illustrations. His dissected models of famous toys like the Care Bears, the Smurfs or Hello Kitty reveal another side of these cute, kitsch characters. The artist captures our attention with the contrast between the sugary outsides and the bizarre insides of these childhood toys.
Born in 1970 in the suburban city of Silver Spring, Maryland, Jason ended up studying Industrial Design at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He then spent most of his younger days traveling around the globe, working as a muralist and a theatrical designer. He later joined the MTV's Special Events department, where we was able to explore his talent in set design and prop creation for MTV live events.
Thanks to his experience and unlimited imagination, Jason can create the most amazing pieces with incredible detail. Today, his Moist Production Studio serves as his main platform for distribution, where he continues to show sweetly insane creations.
