Urban artists Falko One and Rasty teamed up last year to change the landscape of Mamre and Pella, two small towns in the heart of their country, South Africa. For sixteen days, these two graffiti painters created forty colorful murals that aimed to stimulate these communities and add a tourist interest to these unjustly forgotten towns.

By promoting workshops and actively involving locals in the project, they were able to tell a true story about the people, the culture and the scenery of these places through an absolute living gallery. “I, before anything else, want to make it truly South African by implementing the idea in cities and towns that will in the end be a testament to our diverse country”, says Falko about this promising project.

"Once Upon a Town" will continue this year with a second edition. AbbottsDale, a small town near Malmesbury will be splashed with color and inspiration during the next month of March, followed by an exhibiton in Durbanville Hills.
